There are more colors, shades, hues and saturations of sapphire than any other gemstone. Sapphire is also known as blue corundum that consists of colors that are rich, bold, soft and romantic; additionally, sapphires come in a huge array of colors from a golden, rich color of honey from Sri Lanka or classic shades of blue from Burma, Madagascar, Ceylon, or Kashmir. Sapphire also has a lot of history and has been loved and known around the world since the beginning of time, for some of the very first beads that were ever traded in the world were sapphire beads. Because of these reasons, sapphire can be regarded as the gem of the world even above diamond or any other gemstone.
