Finishing
Finishing is the final step in the 'Behind the Bench' series. This last step goes over lots of polishing, sanding, filing and much more.
Tony, the master jeweler, must cut the wax rods with a jeweler saw and further sand the rough spots on the ring before setting the stones. Now, Tony will set the stones and make sure they’re perfectly level; he must remove minor pieces of metal to set the stones entirely perfect. Finishing goes over a lot of polishing and cleaning to make the metal look as immaculate as possible.
After the stones are set just right, Tony will use a tiny electric hammer to press the metal down to perfectly place the stones in the ring. After using the hammer, Tony cleans up the metal marking by using the polishing wheel to smooth the metal. Finally, Tony uses the steam cleaner to make the jewelry exquisite! We now have our gorgeous and sparkling amethyst ring!
